User dxc1 captioned the video with hashtags calling himself an "American abroad" - the clip has picked racked up just under 1 million views and has been liked by 130,000 people. Putting on a fairly decent southern accent, Declan explains to his followers 'exactly' what had happened. It's not the first time South Londoners have had to defend a TikTok video about Peckham which may even be where the inspiration came from. The Englishman, called Declan, who makes sketches on TikTok pretended to be a lad from the USA, and indulged fans with a story that nearly fooled them. The young man took to TikTok to describe the apparent incident after just arriving in Peckham, but it's fair to say he failed to convince everyone with a slew of comments highlighting that he was "clearly British". A 'young American' who told a story of how he'd approached a group of boys in South London to ask them what there was to do locally before having a knife pulled on him has been called out over his 'dodgy' accent.
